To expand upon Peter's answer, this is from Scott's 2008 Specialized Catalog:

Quote:
U.S. Postal Agency in China
Postage stamps of the 1917-19 U.S. series (then current) were issued to the U.S. Postal Agency, Shanghai, China, surcharged at double the original value of the stamp.

K10 is the Scott number of disi123's example. The entire series is numbered K1 - K18.

This stamp illustrates what, for me, would be a problem. If I were the seller, I think I would feel obliged to ensure that the bidder were aware of the true value of the stamp being sold. The seller, in this case, was specific, both in catalog # and date of issue ... so there should have been no confusion. Still, the situation would make me a bit uncomfortable. While I recognize the truth of the adage that a fool & his money are soon parted, I don't relish the idea of taking advantage of said fool.
