I just got my auction catalog from Dutch Country Auctions and this was one of the stamps on the parcel. Definitely looks like some missing ink. I checked and the normal stamp has a full T in the word Tricycle.

There's also a dash of ink on the S and the A of USA.

Any opinions on this one. I collect Canada so Modern US is not my knowledge area. Is this common on this issue?

Just a freak under inking in my opinion. Neat but not particularly valuable. With a plate number on it maybe a bit more so. Fun observation.

Looks like a piece of paper or other foreign matter was attached to the printing plate, a fairly common occurance with the Transportation Series. The blob of the "A" also is fairly common, a bit of overinking maybe. Also, look at the three line in between the two 8's. Now you can see that these coils are extremely popular with "flyspeckers" and other specialists!

If you look closely you can see just a little bit of the T on the upper right side.
