Interesting S/S but I have to confess, I'm not entirely sure what I'm seeing.

The structure on the right -- is it a wind turbine?

Though I think we need the normal climate change that is going on right now it is a wind turbine featured in the stamp. Though I must confess I don't understand the lighting? In any event nice looking stamp.

Golfmann,

Nice souvenir sheet.

Probably the lightning is representing the electricity (in it's raw form) the wind turbine generates. We are starting to have these windmills (well, they are not milling anything so I guess wind turbine is a better description, but I like Windmills!)

Here is the Canada souvenir sheet for Spring 2009 Polar Regions, and because it is divided horizontally down the middle, one can use half of it to post a letter as the next picture shows.

I thought it was a neat penguin stamp until I looked closer! I know, Canada doesn't have penguins, but they are really cute. We paid them a lot of good good fishes to have them model and be on a Canada S/S.

The poor polar bear looks like we are drowning him. Why, he asks? Why? So sad. The fox is really nice.

Ah yes,
The word elektriciteten is Swedish for Electricity (on the top of the Aland sheet according to Google translator.

So generating electricity by wind turbines instead of burning fossil fuels and thus reducing the greenhouse gas produced is preserving the polar regions. Neat. A puzzle solved. I love puzzles.

Now, I suppose Aland is in northern climes and since the language is Swedish maybe it is close to Sweden, but is it? Where is it exactly? I never knew (and still don't).

I have always liked their stamps though. I like Swedish stamps also. Hmmm.

Oh my, I've misspelled again. Sorry Gulfmann, best intentions, no harm meant!

I am thinking that if everyone had only three letters in their names I would still manage to misspell them!

Windmills creating engergy (electricity) is common in Minnesota, Iowa & the Dakotas. They are refered to as wind farms.
