What degree of color shift has to occur before it is considered a plus to a stamp's value instead of a detriment? Back in 1991 when it first came out, I got a roll of the F Tulip stamps that had a reasonably noticeable color shift. Sorry about the poor quality of the image, I don't have proper photographic equipment so I thru this on my old flatbed scanner.

Thanks.

Very nice, your's is actually better than the one shown on the ebay link that oldguy was kind to have shown to you.

Your's a strip of 5 with the plate number.

Nice find.

Ernie11, that is a nice PS5, ( plate strip of 5 ). Yours has enough of a color shift to fetch a nice couple of dollars, but please do not quit your job yet. The strip on E-Bay is nice, but overpriced. Usually this sort of thing will fetch around %15.00 if you can find someone to buy it!
By the way, the E-Bay strip is not a plate strip, just two strips of 2. If you read these forum threads long enough you will find out that Bill Langs is extremely proud of his wares!

I would certainly pay $15 for this one.

Thanks for all the feedback. Back in that time I was collecting PS5's. In this case, too late I separated the PS5's from the roll before I discovered the color shift.

Ernie, you still have a good plate strip or two! The whole roll may have brought more than the individual strips, but one never knows! When I quoted $15.00 per PS5 I was just going by what varieties usually go for; this one may be worth more ( but not the 40 dollars for two strips of 2! ).

I still have the rest of the roll, too. I caught on to the color shift before I used any of the roll for postage, so I saved it. I was just sad that I had removed the PS5 from the roll before I saw the shift.

Was this coil, every 30th stamp having the PN or is it every 27th?

Just curious.
