The 8-cent is straightforward. It isn't "bluish paper" and if you have the DLW correctly identified, that makes it #337. |

You realize, of course... the chances of you having a 363 are literally one in 10 bazillion... therefore prior to your sending the stamp to an expertizing authority, you would not be able to make an assumption that you have anything but a 337... |

I know, just used to the number to show what I think I see.... The idea that I have anything but penny stamps is a pipe dream.. lol But hey, someone has to have one, right. |

Gracie... "bluish paper" drives me to drink! This Siegel resource has a good photo of a 363. The 1909 series is obvious, even to a newbie's eye - clearly gray when next to a clean 1908 series like 331. As much as I dislike the simple "You ain't got one" responses, the 4c and 8c are extremely rare mint, and likely non-existent used. Don't waste time looking for one. http://siegelauctions.com/enc/pdf/1908-15WF.pdf |

They can't exist used. The 4 and 8 cent bluish papers were never issued. When it was discovered that the national collection was missing several rarities, those two stamps were used to make trades for the missing items, since it was not permitted to buy them outright. I don't know of anyone actually using any, and can't think of any reason why they would have. |
