New. Collected Stamps as a Kid, from all over the World. My mother bought me a ton at yard sales and flea markets, my grandfather was a collector for decades and often gave me some for birthdays or when he was visiting, and then I saved postcards from around the World and traded with other collectors. Around 15 years ago I was heading into Jr High and my interest faded as it was put on the back burner to other things but still put new stamps aside as I got them.

Fast Forward to 2 years ago I started sorting all of the stamps I had collected and found that I was way over my head. Since the sorting started my grandfather passed away and I have inherited a very large, very unsorted collection. I don't think there is anything super rare or expensive, but I honestly have no idea where to begin... so I came here.

So here I am. Ready to learn. Mostly to read and ask questions and read along.

Sounds like you have a large collection of stamp in a raw state.

Nice to here you have trying to tame your collection for some years.

Properly as you say there is not any one particular stamp that is worth a lot but bulk lots can be very expensive to buy as lots of people are after big bulky lots like that.

Welcome mayflower2020: I would suggest a trip to the BPL reference area & ask for the Scott Catalog & just scan through any of the volumes (if you have a large stash of US the go with Volume 1 (or Specialized). Just gleaning through will give you some idea of your collections 'value' I live in the Boston area & would offer any assistance as to review, sorting if you are comfortable with that.
