I have found many a fake coil with this trick. you scan the stamp as high resaloution as you can then blow it up as big as the screen. Then measure the width of the frame to the edge and see if its the same top and bottom.

Jim6092252, if I understand you correctly that is how you find a perfectly centered stamp. I do not see how that can find a fake?

all fake if they are bigger its easier to see

Jim, the first one is faked because the cut is not straight. The second one has two crooked sides and you can still see the perfs on the left side! The third one could very well be genuine!

As with any stamp, not being perfectly centered has no bearing whatsoever on whether it's genuine or not

But granted, a larger image makes it easier to spots these problems, which is why I always use a magnifier. The other reason is I refuse to see an optometrist and I can't see a damn thing otherwise.
