Hello fellows, I came across a full pane of the 1997 Christmas issue of Sc# 3249-52 Christmas Wreaths. It only has the wreath pictured and not a hint of any other printing. I'm aware of color fading but the color on the fully printed stamps is alternating green and red. The plate number (B 1111) and "USPS 1996" along with plate position and sheet value is in the selvage. Is this a recorded error? I checked ebay and did not find any listed as such. Is it listed in Scott US Specialized, I do not have a recent one. Any comments on this and some speculation of its value is appreciated. Thanks! Wolf-==-

Yeah, I figured it was worth something. Hit a home run on this one. Got it at a local auction with another $20 worth of mint postage and a few first day covers for...now stand back... $7.00

I guess the question remains...what to do with it? Now that the initial shock has settled in, how do I sell it? I'm not an EFO collector and the dollar value could be used to fill in some much needed areas. I do understand that this is a significant error but now that the "cat has been let out of the bag" I may be diluting the value by offering it. Auctionnetwork lists this error as unique, not no more! Although mine is a bottom right (other is a bottom left) there may, in my observation, be 4 additional copies. Although these may not have come forward yet, the potential exists. Do I sell it now and hope for the best, have it certified (cost 20% CV), or sit on it hoping the value increases? Any offers? Thanks! Wolf-==-

I suggest you try to follow the one that's up for sale and see how it does. You can always make up your mind after that one sells!

wolf, I would sit on it for a while. If you're too antsy to do so, why don't you e-mail a few of the better auction houses? It will be interesting what they have to say. Another possibility will be for the buyer of the listed item wanting yours; he would likely pay the same price as what he paid earlier. (This way he protects his investment.) The auction house will connect you should you agree to pay their commission.

I would sell sooner rather than wait if you can get a good price, the amount of them found will only go up over time then you know what happens to the value
