The 'Crazy House' in Smithville Flats NY USA is a nice example of "turning lemons into lemonade".

"Scientists have been unable to explain" ... disorientation? I gag every time I hear the words "unanswered questions" and, sadly, one hears them so often nowadays, right before someone offers you some cockamamie self-exciting emoto-ride explanation for something that, you know, happened.

If you ever have the opportunity, visit the Winchester House in San Jose, California. It has some very weird interior spaces, and it is built on a grand scale. The exterior view postcards you can sometimes find don't really show any of the strangeness.

A college roommate (we're talking >40 years ago) would go on at length about it: doors that opened onto solid walls, stairs that led nowhere, the works. He loved it, level though it might be.

I have heard of the Winchester house. They say the lady that built it wasn't all there.

There's a whole neighbourhood in Toronto where the houses tilt. Years ago the city, in it's infinite wisdom, buried Garrison Creek, which ran into Lake Ontario. They then built on top of it, and well, you can guess the rest. Now a very desirable neighbourhood, just for the character.
