Does anyone here belong to this? I have been checking out their site and was thinking of joining.

I joined the APS, and for people like me, that doesn't have a local stamp store, or club or anything, joining an association can be a big help and a good way to meet other collectors. Plus, the literature and such has a lot of information.

How is their journal, Topical Time? Anything else I may want to know?

Stefani,
Someone on the forum is a member of the ATA, but I can't remember whom....I do have their handbook for Abraham Lincoln topical collecting and it is very helpful. I've never read their newsletter though.

I am a member of the ATA. I'm not much of a topical collector... but their publication TOPICAL TIMES is the best read for philately going! I purchased a few handbooks from them for my topicals and find them to be wonderful folks.

I would recommend joining them.

I'm not a topical collector (yet), but I joined ATA one year just to see if I might be interested.

It's worth the price of admission to have access to the topical lists. For a couple of dollars, they'll send you a list of worldwide stamps (sorted by country) on the topic of your choice. The lists may not be perfect in some cases, but they all seem to be extremely thorough and carefully updated for accuracy.

I gave my copies of the journal to a collector and I've let my subscription expire for now, but for anyone interested in topicals, I think it would be a worthwhile investment.
