Hi again,
The first picture concers the postage due stamps. All are perf 12 and the first 3 stamps (left to right have no visable watermark as far as I can see) I am just wondering if the stamp on the left may be a J29?

The next stamps (3 cent)I am wondering if the stamp on the left may be a 10. Unfortunatly I have no idea about plating- maybe someone here can help :)

The next stamps (1 cent) I am wondering if the stamp on the right may be ultramarine. But on looking at it once I took a picture I think it may be just a faded version of the stamp on the left.. Both have a nice cancel so maybe worth showing you anyway.

The last stamp (24 cent). Well, I just have no idea what colour it may be. One photo is with a flash and the other without. All opinions welcome.

The one cent blue Franklin with the red cancellation is stunning.

Thank you. for anyone who likes the colour cancelations I also have this 12 cent with both a blue and an orange cencelation, which I am not sure of but seems to be quite unusual.

decrynne,

Your second image appears to show three #11/11A. The one on the left (Oct 22 postmark) appears to be an orange red #11, not an orange brown #10. Please see the following posts:

Hi Collect coins and yes, I think you may be right. I am beginning to find the usefulness of photographing my stamps now. At least I can see how they are all similar in colour, as opposed to letting my eyes fool me when the stamps are in front of me.. does that sound strange?

decrynne,
Identifying color shades on a computer is helpful, but usually cannot be considered definitive. In other words, they may assist in understanding more but online opinions regarding color are not usually not enough to justify asking more for a stamp if you sell them. They are good for understanding if you should consider spending money on getting a certification.

Please also note that scans are usually better than photos since they represent the stamp laying flat and without perspective. If you continue to use photos, try to make sure you are exactly over the stamp the top of the stamp and not at an angle (unless you are trying to show a grill ). You images so far have been quite good.
Don

Thank you Don. Unfortunatly I dont have access to a scanner so I am stuck with photos at the moment. So based on my previous 11's would I be correct in assuming that his is also an 11- slightly oxidised? I cant tell what date it is from based on the cancellation.

decrynne,

Your stamp on cover is #11A printed from plate 1L, and yes, it is oxidized. The term normally used is "Sulfuretted," and you can read more about it at the link below:
