Thank you, Classic Coins for sharing your gorgeous stamp including providing the plate number. So thoughtful and kind of you! I would had no idea how to determine the plate number for this specific stamp. Truly grateful and appreciate you took the time to do this for me.

This is the best I can do about a clearer resolution image. I am not very computer savvy, but I tried the best I could for you to view it better. I hope this one was better than the previous photos.

Warm Regards,

Blazenstar

In the photo, I do see a punch hole within the spiral on lower right including one below the letter "S" in cents between the two lines. The space position of George Washington pony hair tail until the punch hole viewed in the spiral, I do not see any more punch holes, so it appears it skipped. Under magnifying scope, do not see any faint impression holes made in the paper that part of space missing.
I am sorry, I was not unable to make the photograph to share better than the one I have shown in the forum.

Warm Regards,

Blazenstar

Blazenstar,

I still can't tell whether you have any missing perfs, or if they are all blind perfs. Even a slight indentation on the paper from the perforation device would qualify it as a blind perf. But that's OK. Both of these cases are considered freaks, not errors, so there typically is no added value.

In the future, if you can try to raise your scanner's resolution setting to at least 600 DPI (dots per inch), that would help. My scan on the previous page is 800 DPI. Your scans look about 300 DPI.

Here is a link showing more on both varieties:

Thank you for your suggestion and all the information that you provided in the thread, Classic Coin.
After 157 years, I believe it would be such a fantastic idea to see if it can be donated to that historical home of the specific family where it was addressed. Unfortunately there was no letter in the envelope and truly should be preserved properly.
I have always loved historical societies in my own area and it would be such a pleasure to do that, if the historical society is interested.
Thank you so very much. What a great surprise that would be for their town!

Warm Regards,

Blazenstar
