Not close to lake in my view. Lake is bluer. Your stamp has pink notes. I call it carmine. See the following for comparisons.

Monitors and scanners differ in color calibration and it is notoriously difficult to reach agreement on shade in an internet forum. However, if you have never seen a true lake stamp in person, you should do so, and it will completely change your perspective on identifying the shade. A reasonable substitute is an auction catalog from one of the high-end auction houses with top-quality glossy color photos.

I concur with cjpalermo on the color assessment.

Once you have seen a stamp of the color of lake you will never forget the hue it presents in comparison of other stamps of similar design.

I say design, because I have seen variations of lake from one design to the next, but comparatively it is virtually the same color.

Though I have come across some stamps that have oxidized and present just such a lake colorization.

You may wish to purchase the book "Scott Specialized Color Guides for U.S. Stamps" - it has proven very helpful for me in the past.

Regards,

Looks like a carmine or carmine rose to me, not carmine lake or lake.
