My name is Marty Quigley, from the York, PA area, but have been living in Guatemala since 1986. I became a dedicated collector about 20 years ago and now have a large collection of US and Guatemalan stamps. Except for some advanced stamps such as US Scott #1, 83, 118, 119, 121, 141, 142 and 630 (and a possible #127) my collection is most likely to be classified as high on the intermediate level. My Guatemalan collection is also high intermediate but with large sections still empty in the mid 20th century. I look forward to learning more about US stamps and maybe help others with questions or topics on Guatemalan stamps.

Thanks to all for the welcome. To philb; many years ago I was a member of ISGC but I haven't kept it up. Just curious; have you ever been to Guatemala? This site is the first forum I have ever joined, so it may take me some time to learn all the ropes.

Marty, I have not been to Guatemala yet...i know some of the ISGC folks have second homes there...two years ago we took a little cruise out of Tampa ..stopped one day in Mexico and I took the tour to Tulum which was very interesting..so far thats as close as I have come.....I have a pretty fair collection of Guatemala postcards..many hundreds of covers.... |
