A seller has these varieties on ebay of the new Botanical Art Forever booklets and pairs of stamps. He is making them from the With Die Cut press sheets, of which there were either 300 or 350 issued and sold out.

These are interesting varieties because they are technically gutter pairs that are without the horizontal die cuts. They appear as imperf between pairs.

So question is would Scott list the variety? My thought is possibly because it is as issued, and the only way to demonstrate a pane came from the limited press sheet.

I am sure Scott would list the variety. I think the owner should contact the editor or at the least Linn's to get the ball rolling!

It seems to me highly unlikely that Scott would list these. The same format has been possible with earlier booklets from die-cut press sheets, yet Scott has not taken notice of them. Why would they do so with this particular issue?

Are they technically qualified as gutter pairs and blocks? Scott lists those varieties currently with much of the material that was issued in the 1930's and collectors pay premiums.

I plan to use a set of the pairs on some mail to get them postally used. Either way on the listing they are interesting and decidedly scarce. I think if there were 350 sheets issued, which contained 8 booklets (4 x 2 format) then the maximum number of gutter pair sets would be 4 x 350 or 1400. I am not positive if this is right though. I am talking with the seller and he is providing some details for me. I bought two sets as I think they are interesting varieties and modern gutter creations that might be worth listing or footnoting in Scott.

Let me amend my previous post. Scott does not directly list gutter blocks for the modern press sheets. However, I do believe they address them in footnotes, even going so far as to give "catalog values" for them. They do not, however, make any distinction between gutter blocks from die-cut or imperf press sheets.

This is the reason I used to pick up one booklet PS w/ die-cuts. But I doubt there is any philatelic interest in them.
In this case, it is just a clever seller riding on the wave of the sold-out PS w/o die-cuts for this issue.
BTW, although there only 300 of these PS w/ die-cuts produced, they are still available for purchase:

Fom Scott (footnote below #4693)

Values in footnotes for cross-gutter blocks and pairs with gutters between are for items either from die cut press sheets or items in the same format from imperforate press sheets."
