Hello everyone, new member here. Like others I
inherited a pretty good boat-load of stamps/covers from my Grandfather via my mom. He was quite a collector, so I'm hopeful I find a hidden gem or two in the collection. So far, I've catalogued everything from 1869 (a #114 on an envelope dated 27 Jan 1870) through the mid-70's. Some revenues (that I will try and post today in the revenue section); UN stamps, and some foreign stamps. biggest part of the whole thing is two, file boxes full of envelopes with stamps, some postal stationery, letters, etc.
I'll attach some photos to give you an idea of the variety I've
inherited. I've got plenty of questions (like to clean a stamp off a piece of envelope with a clear cancel?). So I'll post them occasionally. I don't have much time right now (I'm active duty Navy) but am retiring soon so will have more to work with all this.
Thanks,
Dave
