This one is on the subtle side: the stripes in Mrs Langtry's gown have been overlaid with gold ...

This Rotograph Company card appears to be a photograph printed on bromide paper, rather than the 'usual' photograph printed on an emulsion layer, or via collotype, or ...

these cards are so cool.

When did glitter postcards become popular in the marketplace? It must have been a fad for some time period then faded out. I see two of the posts have dates. Did it all stop by 1910? Think about the handwork that had to be done sitting on the assembly line. Makes me want to try this on some newer postcards.

Some twit reportedly did not do what his mother would have told him to do - eg, wash the wound with soap & water - and his infection resulted in the ban on glitter et al.

The new rule was that glittered postcards would travel under cover and at the letter rate.
