I had this stamp in my collection as a Scotts #26 - Type III.

After finally getting around to looking at it closely, I'm no longer certain what it is. It appears to be a Type I Imperf that has been perforated to be a Type III. Not sure why anyone would do that.

The Type I has an outer frame that goes around the stamp. This stamp appears to have an outer frame that goes around the stamp.

Type II has a double frame, this on only has the outer frame.

Type III does not have an outer frame at the top/bottom. This one appears to have an outer frame at the top. Hard to tell at the bottom. Type III also has outer frame line running continuous between upper and lower stamps. This one does not appear to have a continuous frame line running down or up to the a joining stamps.

Type IV does not have an outer frame at the top/bottom. This one appears to have an outer frame at the top and bottom.

Perfs on right edge appear to my untrained eye as too perfect ... reperf?

It is either a Type I or Type II. It's hard (for me) to tell from your photo. There were perforated type I and II stamps produced. They are listed as Scott #25 and #25A respectively.

Scott #25 with normal perfs. It isn't uncommon to find scissor separated perfs on 25's. It took a while for people to put the scissors away after the introduction of perforated stamps. Clearly, some people never put them away.
