I thought this one would be very easy. It is a "C" relief stamp, but I don't see the blur extending east from ornament "U" to the top of "POSTAGE" anywhere in Neinken on a C relief stamp. Nor do I see it anywhere in Doporto's site.

It also looks like a small vertical dash in the middle of the hair. Lots of mottling, so I thought plate 7, but nothing in the book looks like this stamp in plate 7. I bought it on a whim, because of it's dark color and impression thinking it could be Type V, Plate 5, maybe 23L5 because of the faint line sticking out between ornaments "A" and "S", but it doesn't match anything else. Can't figure it out though at all.

Any other ideas? Greatly appreciated!
Thanks much, Ray

Looks like 25R8--check out the image at the Doporto archive. You've got plating marks east of Ornament L and west of Ornament D.

Thanks Dudley, exact match....and the blur over the PO is there on Doporto also.

Some of the positions are difficult for me when they aren't pictured in Neinken at all, and even more so when in Neinken, but not on Doporto...

Appreciate the help!
Ray
