I had found online, a study of numeral cancels of the 1851-57 3cent stamps. I believe it showed both of the larger 3's that I have. Problem is, I can't find that page and I didn't jot down the info.

I thought the display was on the USPCS site. I can't find it there.

Anyone know of this page, or familiar with these cancels? I added the "FREE" cancel in the scan because I needed the scan of it.

Alexander and Simpson - U.S Postal Markings 1851-61

Available on this page at the USPCS website:
http://www.uspcs.org/resource-cente...nic-library/

Start at page 116 for the numerals. The "Free" section follows it.

chipg, thanks. That's a great tool. It's not the page I had seen before. Very useful to have though.

I was not able to identify my 3's.

The page I had seen, had both these cancels shown. Seemed like a display someone had put together for a show.
