I love yard sales, too, but rarely see stamps for sale.
Once upon a time, there was a cigar box (literally) loosely filled with recent US postage on paper, and the price was five bucks, firm.
Perfin'd Special Delivery? Precanceled Parcel Post? Good on you, lad.
Cheers,

I found a stamp collection once in a box of books marked 1.00 each, out of what I thought was guilt at the time I bought the whole box only to find the rest of the box just a good, seems books on collectables sell for money. |

Another question to bear in mind: does a philatelist sit in the woods? Personally, I find it quite peaceful. It really relaxes my mind to allow a full flow of thoughts.
I also love yard sales. Congrats on a nifty find. With a quick look, none of it pokes out at me as super desirable. Ikey already pointed out some of the more nifty ones. Regardless, I would be just as happy as you to find this album at a yard sale. A good deal is always worth it to me to acquire more stamps.
Punny business aside, congrats! |

Quote: seems books on collectables sell for money. Yep, with the exception of major catalogs (Scott, Michel, et. al.) that are published in large quantities every year, most hobby books have limited press runs and are quickly out of print. Some of them get quite expensive over time and can be hard to find. |

Found an envelope filled with stamps in an old desk once. Nothing valuable, but it helped fill some empty spaces. |

Thank you all, it is exciting to find stamps in unorthodox places such as yardsales. But for me, I guess it's not so unorthodox. I've had a few good stamp finds yard saling:) And thriftstores, lets not neglect those houses of hoard trophies that potentially contain philately treasures as well! |

Great find! You usually see more coins (silver) and sports cards as collectibles than stamps at yard sales. Yard sales are the better and cheaper find; at estate sales, they usually have an appraiser who prices the items too high. |
