It looks like a stamp that was the left most in a pane. When the sheet of stamps was cut it was cut too much to the left - took some of the stamps on the other pane. Since it has some of the neighboring stamp it may be interesting to somebody, but yes, a straight edge is fairly common.

The line in the middle is the middle of the sheet. It should have been cut on this line, not through the stamp!

Some people call these straddle pain stamps. They are pretty common but actually desirable to collectors of this issue. The doubled line that you see is very common and different from the true doubled frameline variety that is listed in the catalogue.
