There are many but the 1st one to consider is the Scott US Specialized Catalogue.

The Scott Specialized is the standard reference, but it may depend on what information you seek. If you want details on plate numbers, for example, you want the Durland catalog published by the United States Stamp Society (brand new edition just published a few days ago).

Yeah, I was afraid of that. But you know, the field is so large that a "specialized" catalog would have to be enormous in size. Best thing to do in my opinion is to let us know if there is an specific interest or a particular issue that you are looking into.
