I am looking for some specific stamps. I would like to find stamps from the "Confederated States", any hints on where to find them. Also stamps from the Middle East. Kalamazoo has only one stamp shop and it is 95% coins.
Thanks!

Any of the countries in the middle east really. Iran, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Kuwait,Lebanon. I'm sure I have missed many, but that is the area I mean.

I have a whole hoard of Middle East stamps that I am looking to offload. Nothing complete but there are some nice stamps and many others besides. Included is a collection of Palestine with many complete sets.
Quite a lot of Lebanon,Egypt, and Israel too. All countries covered.

Philb; no reason to post for me...if there is one thing I've learned on this group, is the trust in everyone, you especially.

I have several old stamps from my son's Great Grampa, that he picked up during and after WWII. Several have Arabic style writing on them. Can't find them in my Stamp ID book. Last chance is gonna be Scotts Catalog. If I were to scan them and place them here, could someone help ID which country they come from.
WOn't happen tomorrow or even next week, as many still need to be soaked off. Or is there a country known for no hints that we could use to find their home. I found a Suadia Arabia stamp and was able to figure it out because of the few english letters I found on it. Are most like this.
Thanks,
Jay

My US album doesn't have any place set aside for Confederated states. Are they mixed in, do I need to make my own section, or do I buy something.
Sorry to be bombarding you with all the questions. I don't even have a Stamp group within driving range.

Agreed , I always liked the name Kalamazoo for a city.

If you are in Michigan there are several Philatelic events in the area , I attended a Spring Postcard show in Kalamazoo Michigan and I know that there are also stamp shows in the area , you may have to look for it on a national event calendar.

Jay,
Good Morning [here]. You can scan as many as you like and I/we will always try to help. Sure we will find the answers too. You can scan on piece, no need to soak.
The Arabic countries can often be confusing, especially early Saudi,Jordan,Turkey etc. I have a Middle East catalogue which is a good reference for me.
So get scanning and let's help you out !

I will make a list of my Middle East stamps and post them on the forum. However, one cannot buy and sell until one has 50 posts to their name [I think I am correct in saying this]. So get posting too and we can go ahead if you find something you like.

There will be lots !

Londonbus1......Far from Kalamazoo
