I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. I bought it for the imperfect grill which I would classify as an oddity. The imperfect grill on this F grill resembles the letter "F" which is why I bought it. I can't tell if the "missing" points are truely missing or just extremely faint.

Try soaking it in watermark fluid. If the grill is faint, it will show up as the fluid soaks in.

From what I am seeing it's a complete grill with a bit of weakness in the impression. The most common cause of this partial weakness is a bit of rippling of the paper due to air captured as the sheet was fed into the grill press. Mount it in your album with the normal variety and note it as a "grill ripple" or something like that. A curiosity at best.

Good idea from both of you. I've already have 2 other #96 stamps. I would not be surprised at all that the rest of the grill is there but the strong part of the grill with it's "F" shape is great for an F grill.
