Phil, it's not PRC, but China. However, I cannot make out the characters to ID the province/region/usage, even after enlarging the scan. Can you provide a high resolution scan of just one stamp. Thanks!

The problem is the original resolution of the scan, not the size.

They are revenues (not in Scott) and my China specialty catalogs are out on long-term to loan to another collector. I only got 2 hours of sleep, so the province/usage eludes me at the moment.

I'll let you know when my memory returns (if I remember).

Yes, maybe Zhang will know.

OK, I'm really slow this morning...

I should let you know, they are postal savings stamps. You have the full set of 6. If you run across imperfs, I believe those would be proofs.

However, without a catalog, I don't remember date of issue or province (it may have been a national issue, I don't remember).

This stamps have a little value and not interested by many stamps collectors because this are not PRC stamps.

The interest a collector might have in that set has little to do with whether they were issued by ROC or PRC.

Also, interest in a particular stamp is not always based on retail value.

The stamp below has a Scott catalog value of 35c, and can usually be bought for a few pennies. However, I consider it the most valuable stamp in my collection, because it was the first mint stamp my Mom gave me when I first started collecting (and, it's ORANGE!!).

The real value of stamp collecting is the enjoyment and the memories.

Thanks, Mom!!

Why on earth would Taiwan want to unite back with China ??
Or are you only talking about philatelic re-unification?

That's actually a very good and thought-provoking question. Because I deal with a lot of internationals, I am neutral on this and all other related issues.

However, I think it is worth pointing out that in many cases it is politics and ideology that divides people, not the people themselves. That is neither a condemnation nor a commendation of politics/ideology; simply an observation.

Sorry for taking this thread slightly off-topic (thread title, ironically, was "identity crisis"). I just thought it was an interesting question.

Taiwan will rejoin China only if their ideologies change.
Meaning if China becomes democracy with free open multi-party elections or
Taiwan turns to an autocratic social-capitalists, know as Chinese Communism.

In addition to the above overprint and special print by postal dministration, from 1942,many local post have overprinted their own savings stamps, according to available records show:5 kinds of type of Anhui Province,3 kinds of type of Zhejiang Province,3 kinds of type of Sichuan Province,5 kinds of type of Fujian Province,8 kinds of type of Hunan Province, 6 kinds of type of Hubei Province,10 kinds of type of Gansu Province,5 kinds of type of Jiangxi Province,6 kinds of type of Guangxi Province,3 kinds of type of Guangdong Province,2 kinds of type of Guizhou Province,9 kinds of type of Xinjiang Province, total 65 kinds of type by 13 local post.

All postal savings stamps in June 1945,stop selling.
