HI all
Tonight the scouts attended the local stamp club meeting. I had prepared the members and asked that if anyone felt so inclined they could bring in a small lot to donate to the scouts to bid on in the auction. Just to make sure the scouts would have something to bid on I put together 6 lots out of items donated by members of this site.

Out of the 9 scouts participating in the merit badge class 7 attended. Each scout was given 2 "scout bucks" just for showing up and could obtain more by interacting with the members (or as swabbie says, geezers). When I got to the meeting I was totally blown away by the generosity of the members. Instead of 10-12 items that were to be intermingled with the club auction the members contributed over 50 lot items and as many give aways. The club insisted that we have a separate scout auction that was run BEFORE they could have their's.

The scouts had a great time and very quickly caught on to the concept of being "cut throat" when bidding. All scouts did very well and I think my son did exceptionally well, but he wants to post his winnings sometime tomorrow.

I reminded the scouts that they need to sign on here so they should show up within the next day or so.

Thanks
Richard

Good work, Ziggy... and good job with your Stamp Club helping the boys. Do any of the Lads collect Scouts on Stamps?
