I have been sorting and getting many of my stamps together. (ie: 100 Great Britian 3d queens. Many many many of the same and they are obviously the ones that everyone has. I'm storing them in Glassine, but that seems to really overstuff the envelopes. How do you all store you multiples of stamps that you keep. Rubbermaid? Ziplocks? I was thinking of taking those that there are quite not quite so many, using glassine envelopes, and then storing them in a rubbermaid container that fits the envelopes. Marking the outside of the container with "Extras" and setting it aside somewhere to use if I get my stamp collecting group together. How do you handle these? Also, looking through the net, I'm finding small lots of stamps that I need, but not exactly small. Bunches of 50 or 100 would fill most of the space on my page, since it seems the stamps pictured on the pages are not the stamps we get. Anyone have a resourceful solution for this? Thanks for you help. God help me that when I start my group someone with some experience shows up.
Thanks! Jay

I don't bother with glassines at all -- regular sized envelopes are cheaper and accomplish the same function, and I just store them in old shoeboxes.
It's called recycling. |

I found zip lock sandwitch bags to be usefull. I use wide masking tape and a sparpie pen to label each bag. Works well for me. |

Whether you choose glassines, sandwich bags or envelopes (I use all three, but mostly envelopes) try to find a filing system that will facilitate keep track of what you have. I didn't come up with a filing/storing system when I began collecting. I've changed it a few times and as a result, I actually have a dickens of a time locating stamps I know I have. |

I use envelopes basically the billing payment by mail type and I save on stamps by paying my bill at payment centers or even the bank ...LOL , I end up with at least 2-3 envelopes a month and If I want to be real frugal I can carefuly reuse envelopes I've carefully opened.
I also use shoeboxes. |
