The stamp is a flat plate booklet pane single from a Scott 554c booklet pane (not listed as a single or on cover). |

Thank you cfrphoto. Would you happen to know the color of the stamp. I realize with the computer it throws off the true color code of the scan. |

Great picture! These stamps were printed in large sheets, which were then cut in four smaller panes. The blue line is where the cut was. Stamps are possible with a cut on any side, and also on two sides. A stamp with two sides imperforated on opposite sides is a coil stamp. Your stamp came from the right hand side of the sheet, but we can not tell whether from the top or the bottom pane.

Appears to be a dry printing or scrape, interesting but no significant market value. Don |

It can't be a scrape as it's cancelled and the cancellation is correct and I can see in my stamp a great white area in the middle of the stamp. |

Why is it not possible that it was scraped before it was mailed/cancelled? |

Like Don said, probably a spot where the plate did not pick up enough ink. It is not an error, but more a freak or oddity. And sorry for giving the wrong answer at first, but you did not ask a question!
