1typesetter - I am absolutely no expert, but I give it a shot by thinking you have an E grill, 14 x 17. Congratulations. At first sight I agree it looks like 13 x 16 rows. However I think it's a last (14th) vertical row on right. It's quite faint, but I think it's there. Similar for horizontal rows. I think it's a 'last' 17th row at the bottom, with some slightly visible half-points, more visible on lower right than left.

For some reason the ridges and points appear a bit funny to me, e.g difficult to see shadows, but it might just be works of the scanner or the negative image that have me fooled.
The only thing about this grill that appears obvious to me, is the vertical orientation of the ridges, particularly apparent at lower left, which unfortunately take away the possibility of a z-grill.

That's my 2c, hope someone more experienced will chime in
Jon

I'm not sure about the size of the grill. If you are going to figure out grills, the best way is to get aq Sonic Imagery Labs
US Specialty Precision Multi-Gauge and lay the grill template over your stamp. It is easy to both count grill points, and make sure they are the correct size.

Agree with Blaamand. Looks like the 14th column is on the right.
