I'm sometimes amazed at what shows up on ebay as an auction without reserve. Below are current auctions for #39 used with cert from NYStamps, catalog $11,000 (granted, it has had a large tear repaired) and #366 15c Blue Paper with cert from gsquared7, catalog $3000!

That #366 is gorgeous. I'm a sucker for stamps with selvage.

p.s. I am currently accepting any donations toward a fund for me to win either of these

That is a really old PF cert. Can anyone identify the date? It is five digit certificate number (64053) and too old for the PF online database. What are the chances this would get a new cert as genuine used?

A PF cert that old might still be on microfilm, but it might or might not still be readable. Without knowing who looked at it all those years ago there is no way to know the real odds on it getting another good cert without actually submitting it for one. In any case technology has improved so significantly over the last few decades that a new cert would be essential anyway.

The date looks like 1978 or 1979.
