John Hotchner, who writes the U.S. Notes column in Linn's, asked for his readers to write a letter to him, telling him what they thought of The Simpson's stamps. I wrote him a letter last week as to how much I like them, that I am a United States collector (but not an American), etc.

He e-mailed me back, to-day, thanking me for my letter and wants to quote me.

David

Hi David,

While at a garage sale the other day, I came across a Simpson's comic book. I'm not particularly interested in the Simpson's stamps myself and won't go out of my way to buy any for my USA collection. But, when I saw this comic book I thought it might be a neat addition for someone that is into the Simpson's and the Simpson's stamps. You can read it from the front, then turn it over and upside down and read different stories from that direction. It has two different outside cover pages. The one I got is kinda used though but still in good shape. Here are a couple pictures of the covers I downloaded from the internet so you all could see.

It is Simpson's Super Spectacular #1. (tried to look it up on e-bay first, but didn't see any #1s, only subsequent issues.)

Dave, I'll set this comic aside for you if you'd like it.

Dave N.

Intersting comic book, David. Thank-you for the offer, but i'll pass. Perhaps someone would want it to affix a Simpson's stamp to the cover and get it postmarked.

Q:

I wrote a two-paged, typewritten (?) letter. I'm not sure what he will quote, but I have an idea. Let's wait for the column and see.
