Nice addition ! I am also at the point now where my classic US must be slowly built due to cost. A nice sound copy works for me as well !

Congratulations on your purchase, Harry.

I doubt that I will ever have any of the older, more valuable stamps. Unless you want to leave them to me in your will. LOL

Have the same problem as everyone. US collection quite complete except the "holes" in the front. Collecting speed in direct ratio to the cost.

Yes I agree the front of the book or the first page is very expensive that's why I'm leaning towards the bargains,
both these were bargains Scott's U.S. #11 and #25

This area will be slowly added to in time.
P.S. Steve I don't plan to go just yet so there may be quite a wait
Thanks Glenn

Edited for P.S.

Ever since I began collecting stamps (many years ago) I have looked and wished for the early US. Never has more than just a smattering of the least expensive ones.

I am now saving gradually for a US number 1. I am going to have it or go bust trying.

I recently got a SC #73--the "Black Jack" and can't get tired of looking at it. Is it an obsession. Probably, but I just don't care.

Hey Nugget..

I'm a little slow in posting, but just want to add my "congratulations" -- nice looking stamp.

One of the reasons I joined SCF was to find people to commiserate with me about trying to collect those older issues. With only a few exceptions, I have a complete set of mint U.S. from 1930 until 2000. I decided to stop buying new issues in 2000 and apply that money to working backwards into the 18th century with used stamps. I found it got expensive fairly quickly.

Anyway, the one consolation is the longer I save and wait, the sweeter the mounting

Nice #9 Ben! I've been seriously considering selling all of my stamps issued after 1930 so I can buy one nice classic.
