RG and Dudley,

I just updated and saw your posts. I was posting when both of yours came in. Dudley, that color of the # 75 is very distinct. What a difference!

RG, I found your post very informative. I am not that advanced with these areas. Reading is a very good way to learn.

Thanks to earlier thoughts as well. chasa, essayk, Caper123, Winston, Ray and Don!

If you decide to pass it along to someone. I'm a newer younger collector (but not a child) and I would love to have such an ancient stamp in my collection.

I must confess to being a bit leery of using a pair of scans from different sources for a side-by-side comparison.

Here are #75 and 76 from my collection taken in a single scan. This way you can adjust the tone any way you like and the relative colors of the two remain fixed in the same proportions.
