I have numerous Scott 555 and 635 (A158) Lincoln 3 Cent Stamps.

Most of which are Violet or in different shades of Violet;Nevertheless,

I can't understand why I come across a "Slate Blue" color of this stamp?

Does anybody know? Stamp Community Help Needed?

Color changeling due to sunlight or perhaps a chemical reaction.

Perhaps instead spend the money on buying more stamps? The stamp was never issued in that color. In the almost 100 years since issue, there have been no reports of the stamp in "slate blue". You've received the correct answer above: "Color changeling due to sunlight or perhaps a chemical reaction". There will never be another explanation.

When the PF certificate comes back, please post a scan of it here so we all can learn from it.

Some collectors can only be educated through the process of a thinner wallet.
