My two big collecting areas are the King George VI reign of the British Commonwealth, and Costa Rica; each collection used. I also enjoy collecting the Revenue stamps for both of these collections.
I know there are many people on this board who collect United States Revenues, but does anyone else collect revenues from other countries?

Dianne:
If you need help identifying British Commonwealth or Costa Rica revenues, post a scan. I've got most of the reference books on those.
That goes for everyone else on the board, too.

According to my 2000 Barefoot catalogue, you have a 4A (four annas) Special Adhesive (ie. general revenue) stamp from 1868. Catalogue value is 10p, but it's in pretty rough shape. A nice item, with an interesting cancel, none-the-less.

Thanks, David. I appreciate you going to the effort to find that for me. The cancel defintely seems to be the best part. Steve |

I collect Canadian revenues. I'm interested in the rest of the British Empire, especially Victorian era revenues. |

Quote: I collect Canadian revenues. I'm interested in the rest of the British Empire, especially Victorian era revenues. Tom: You will need the E.S.J. Van Dam Canadian Revenue Catalogue, Barefoot's British Revenues, and Barefoot's British Commowealth Revenues catalogues. I have all three. As an aside, since sending me that wonderful book on U.S. stamps--I've gone "whole hog" on collecting U.S. David |

Thank you very much for the references! I have the latest Van Dam. Now I'll keep an eye out for the Barefoot catalogues. |

Tom:
I understand the current version of the Barefoot Catalogue for the Empire & Commonwealth is 2006. Send me scans if you need help with anything.
Tina:
Go to wikipedia and search British Empire. You will see the one-quarter of the world once ruled by the British.
