I suspect that it is a 76 that has been bleached rather then a 75. Look at how white the paper is and how faded the cancel is.

sold for 198.50$ as a "fire engine red" shade. perf crease per seller (large and obvious on back scan). Perhaps fine/vf centering at best for issue.

Am I missing something here??: is this stamp known to come as "fire engine red"? pretty high price for an off centered, non-sound used Scott 75?

yes, same bid-rigging case as Apfelbaum. Apfelbaum entered into a plea agreement - https://www.justice.gov/atr/case-do...greement-107 If I remember correctly, most of the other defendants also entered into a plea agreement, but one or two remained in Europe to avoid prosecution.

I seem to remember something about a fake C3a being sold on ebay and Dana Okey being the seller. This was about 20 years ago now. It was in Linn's.
