Are these the common stamps or the rare ones. I do not know how to tell. Thank you. One has green ink on the back.

Stampgal, one thing to do would be to acquire a Scott catalog. That and the website http://stampsmarter.com would bring you a bit closer to identifying.
One more suggestion. Get a perforation gauge and check for watermarks.

i use this one quite a bit. you can also go to the sigh for the 2c and 3 c issues.
