I collected as a kid and saved the collection. Was recently cleaning out someone else's attic and came across stamps and it made me want to re-visit my old hobby. Glad I found this.
What do you call envelopes with pre-printed postage? I have un-cancelled business envelopes. Some with Five Cent (1963?) and some with 25 cent (1988?) postage embossed on them. 1988 are in very good condition (13 stars on field of blue around USA) but the envelopes all have a return address pre-printed. Worthless? Use-able? Collectible?
The field of stars around USA with 25-cent denomination is likely to be U611 ... catalogues at 70-cents for the entire envelope, 60-cents for a cut square. These come with both small & large block tagging ... no difference in values for the two tagging varieties. And welcome to the forum!
The U611's would still be considered collectable even though they have a pre-printed return address.
Or you could use them when sending a letter by crossing out the return address or putting a new return address label over it and adding enough additional postage to get it up to the current letter rate.
