Before spending a lot of effort listing on a site, it would be wise to look at current bidding/buying patterns. Wensy.com for example has 125,483 lots of stamps listed - with a total of 217 bids on them - most of the bids are for less than 20 cents. Almost all of the bids placed will get no competition, so the chances of a bidding war for diamonds in the rough are nil. I have recently discovered wensy and I have bought 3 items there for good prices, but as a seller I would wonder: "how have so many offered so much for no buyers?".
ebay may have high charges, but if you sell there you will get a fair price. Scarce items, well presented, will get exceptional bidder response.

I agree. It's hard to top ebay.

The only reason for sellers not to use ebay, I think, is if they have problems with Paypal, which is essentially a conspiracy against sellers.

If you want to shun ebay on account of the obligation it imposes on sellers to accept Paypal then I think Delcampe offers the best solution.

On Delcampe you can accept any form of payment you wish, no restrictions.

The site is heavily used by Europeans - all my sales have so far been to France and Belgium - many of whom have Moneybookers accounts. Unlike Paypal, Moneybookers rarely intervenes in merchandise disputes.

Although it reserves the right to shut down member accounts at its own discretion, so does Paypal.

For me the best stamp auction website is Delcampe. ebay has more popularity, but Delcampe is growing very fast.

It accept paypal and Moneybookers for send payments.

I agree. I think Delcampe is going somewhere.

Also, Moneybookers, which is going to be renamed Skriff (I think), looks set for a big push very soon and may well lift its profile significantly.

I'm cautiously optmistic, as they say!

Delcampe, hands down. I was skeptical at first, but now I'm a True Believer.
