Regarding the stamp you showed with that specific overprint -- I'm pretty sure it did not come as a $800 surcharge. While that surcharge does exist, it doesn't come with that overprint.

The top 5 characters are actually a separate overprint from the rest. These 5 characters designate the restrictions for province/area of use. You need to make sure the 3rd/4th characters from the left are EXACTLY the same.

There are literally hundreds of these overprints/surcharges scattered through dozens of pages in disjoint sections of the catalog. Maybe others are better skilled at this, but I really need an actual scan/photo before I can help you ID it.

Keep in mind that most of these surcharges/overprints are quite common, even in mint condition.

Looking forward to seeing the actual scans.

Need to find a way to gain back some of the weight I lost during my month-long trip. Yeah, I'm back again, whether you all like it or not.

Now, where's my chocolate...

The one with the 800 might be China Scott #690; the characters are different from the ones in that picture, but everything else matches. If so, then the green stamp with 20 in the corners is #689. The light red one with 70 in the corners could be #769. None of them are very expensive (they're valued at 20 cents apiece in the 2001 Scott catalogue).

Heres the pics.. I just picked out a random page. Anyone know if the stamps on here are worth anything? The book I have is a half-foot thick and I have stamps from EVERWHERE. What country stamps are worth the most?

I am afraid that no one of your China collection is expensive as you show. But they are still good collection.
