Hello Everyone,

Can anybody help me with the Scott number for this stamp please? I am probably staring right at it but cannot see it!

Thanks

Simon

Postal stationery. You won't find it in Scott's. What you need is some sort of specialized catalogue for Great Britain that includes these issues.

WpgLwr and simonskelly, the item looks to be printed by typography. I know Britain used embossing to produce postal stationery (envelopes). Was typography used to print envelopes? Could this be a cut square from a postal card? Being a halfpenny denomination, that is a possibility.

One thing for sure--it is not an ordinary stamp. I don't think it is in "Stanley Gibbons Specialised", the four kings.

Well, if it's cardboard, then it's probably a postal card. Not all GB envelope postal stationary items were embossed; a lot were, but not all of them.
