Okay... here's the problem...
Two years ago (2007) I went to the Mega Stamp Show in New York City. I love that show. I wanted to purchase a used Baby Zepp.
The Catalogue price had recently dropped on a F-VF used one from $110 to $60. I was hoping to purchase a nice one with a light cancel for aroud $50. Seems all the dealers kept their prices up at the $110 listing and were selling at a "discount" price of $75.
When I asked them about the catalogue price, they all scoffed.
Sure, they wouldn't sell me a nice Baby Zepp at the new catalogue price, but I bet if I had one to sell they'd be quoting the current Scott Catalogue price, as gospel.
I hope to find a nice Baby Zepp at the StampExpo 400... at a little less than $60.
Thoughts?
David

Hi Dave......
Sounds like a good plan to me. I don't think you'll have any problems finding one you like. |

LondonBus:
The Baby Zepp is USA Scott C18, picturing a Zepplin, 50-cents face value. It is called the Baby Zepp(lin) because of the four Zepplin stamps issued by the United States Post Office, it has the lowest face value.

i think everything is life is the same to most dealers. they only pay attention to book listing when it benefits them. i tried to purchase a vehicle with a top book price of $5000. the lowest they would sell it was $6500. i told them to take a long walk off a short pier.
