Hello everyone. I see there seem to be a few Aussies on here, so thought I'd add another one.

I've been collecting stamps for about 35 years, with some lulls , since I was about 10 years old. I specialise in Australian and Victorian (the Australian colony) stamps. I would class myself as fairly experienced I guess, collecting variations, shades etc. I prefer early issues, although I have a fair amount of decimal (that's after 1966 in Aust) as well. I've concentrated on Victoria in recent years, a very challenging area.

I've been thinking of maybe branching to US stamps as well, early issues, as it looks challenging and appealing (and might be a change from seeing Queen Vic on every stamp ) I saw an inverted Jenny in an auction the other week, for around US$1 Mil - I said to my wife if we win the lottery this week I'm buying that stamp! She said no chance! I can dream.

Hopefully I can be of some assistance in the forums, particularly in the Australian area.

Cheers
Balf (Michael)

Welcome to the forum Michael. Show us some pictures of your stamps. I collect USA stamps and have been for over 30 years, so if you do go in that direction..... let me know.

Welcome aboard, Michael.

Always good to have another knowledgable Aussie here.
I have been collecting for about 40 years, but my knowledge is limited. More of a collector than a Philatelist.

Hi Balf,

Thanks for posting the Aussie Air Mail stamp. Nice one!
You guessed it, I do collect W/W Air Mials (trying for mostly pre 1950s as I like the engraving and to keep the quantity of stamps down). I also collect USA stamps.
