Hi, my name is Carol. I'm a new to stamp collecting. I am starting with U.S. stamps because I thought WW would be to intimidating. But the U.S. stamps are a little overwhelming too. Being in eastern Kentucky the nearest stamp store is 100+ miles away, so I'm relying on the internet for most of my stamps. I do have a few FDC, and I have picked up some post cards at the flea market. I don't know if they are worth any thing but I think they are cool. I have been reading your forums for a few weeks, I seems like you have a good thing going here. I hope to learn alot. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi Carol...Welcome aboard. I hope you have a recent catalog of US stamps to help you determine the value of the stamps you're buying on the internet. A good rule of thumb is you should pay around 20% of the stamp's catalog value. I often pay more than that if I've got one in sight I really need. Good luck. You'll find answers to most of your questions here.

Hi Carol,

Welcome to the forum. If you need help with anything, just post your questions here. Some one will be along to help you. For values of your US collection you will want to look through a Scott Catalog, which you can find in the "reference section" of your local library,

Butch

G'Day Carol and to the forum.

Carol this is a relaxing hobby so take the collecting one step at a time and you'll enjoy it more.
