I found this U.S. Scott 116 from 1869...sure its a canner..a space filler..i could try and sell it for 10 bucks..but the 10 bucks would be gone on a milk run..i will fill the space in my Liberty album !

Certainly not the best copy of 116 I've seen, but it's better than mine which is nothing. I've got 115 and 117. I'd give you $10. for it.

Allan, its in the album already..i also have a Scott #90 which catalogs $400 used..yeah, but the cancel is so heavy it looks like Washington is peeping through a knothole..i think I was offered 14 dollars for it..it in the album also..my two most "valuable" U.S. stamps !

Nicely centered pictorials can bring a very nice price. I have an old catalog that values a 116 at $140, so you did well at $10. Does anyone know the current scott value for a F-VF copy?

Your USA Scott 116 is in typical condition of most of the United States stamps of that era.

There is a reason the better examples sell for so much more! They are very difficult to find.

G'Day mate the Harris 2009 catalogue said #116 MNH (VF)is $1750.00,F $1350.00,AVG $1050 and in the USED/cancelled section VF $225.00,F $145.00,AVG $105.00 hope this helps.

In my 09 catalog.. Goes for $2500 unused and $150+ used. That's a good stamp in y book!

I agree with David. A clean, well-centered stamp of this series commands a huge premium.
