just asking for the correct technical stamp word for the pointed part of the perforated sides of a stamp.

Once stamp is separated, the perforations on the side have many pointed edges where the tear was made.

What is the word for just one of this pointed edge?

thanks!

tooth (for one "point")
teeth (for more than one "point")

Technically, the holes are the "perforations".

You will commonly hear them described as "perfs", although technically incorrect as khj said. A stamp description might say it has a short perf, or a pulled perf. They're actually describing the tooth, but perf just seems to be common usage.

Thanks guys! had a hard time trying to pin that one down tooth singular, teeth plural, perfs in general. needed to know that word for the image scan I'm doing.

...then somewhere reading on, there's the torn tooth, pulled teeth, teeth with holes, holes with teeth? somewhere somehow that made my day thanks!
