Thank you again k. You have shown tremendous service of love for the hobby and us as well. I wish we were all living near you so we could take you out to a nice restaurant to show our gratitude in a tangible manner.

A little over a year ago I bought about 15,000 precancels. I have already sorted them by state and city and set the duplicates aside. I don't think there are any of great value but it has been great fun so far. I haven't done much with them for 8 months, but am now motivated to get back to them. Now I just need more time.

An after thought: With stamp collecting, no one needs to be bored in retirement; there is so much to collect, do and learn.

In checking my precancels with the k's list, I'm finding that after checking duplicates from 6 states, I only found 2, maybe 3, bureaus.

But I do have a number of locals, if you are interested in those.

Local precancels outnumber Bureau precancels by a pretty substantial margin.

You are right, k,
A little math shows that locals outnumber bureaus at least 150 to 1 across all US precancels. I don't know how that rate pans out on prexies but it has got to be a lot.

Mike, After I am done pulling out the prexies, both bureau and locals, I'll let you know. But give me a little time, I'll have to do it on my limited spare time.
