Harry, I envy your energy and imagination..stamps is about it for me..i don't really care to hunt anymore..i don't have a $62,000 classic Corvette or a cigarette boat on the river..i am a history buff and get a lot of it out of collecting stamps...lets say as far as material things go ..for me its stamps..i say live and let live !
Have I mentioned just how much I like this hobby of ours? I finally found a helpful, friendly face at one of the local Post Offices this morning. I picked these up and felt like a kid on Christmas morning! Anything that can get this old fart that motivated that early in the morning and not be caffeine related has got to be a good thing! I have yet to decide which is going to be more valuable in the long run, the stamps or the friendly helpful clerk.
Hope you like the stamps! I sure do since I use to watch most of the shows.
I just sent off for a pictorial postmark for Red Skelton, whom my grandfather met in the 1950's & I have a picture to prove it. I used the picture for the cachet.
That's how I got into collecting in the first place. I lived in Germany for 3 years and while I was there I visited several historical WWII spots. That sparked an interest in WWII. Later in life I still was a WWII buff and came across some WWII U.S. Stamps. Well that started my collecting everything WWII stamp related. Now I am a stamp junkie and have never looked back.
