I've seen these before. They are invisible stamps, issued by the French underground in early 1944 to confuse the Vichy government.

Whenever you purchase a lot and the stamp count is less than what you expected, they probably included a few sets of these in the lot.

That makes sense. All I could see was "POSTA", and I guessed, because it kind of reminds me of the early Post-WWII Romanian stamps, just before the legend changed to "R.P. Romana".

WpgLwr, you are not only good as tina says, you are incredibly fast. I am regretting getting rid of lots of unidentifiable stamps years ago. I had no idea what they were and had no way of finding out.

quigngt do you have a way to look them up now?I have the scotts catalog on cd but it takes me at least 20 mins per stamp to look up,thats why having Glenn and the rest of the guys on here a great pleasure knowing cause they have been at it loooooooong before I was even bornif I only knew 1/4 of what they know id do just fine

For sure. I can't quite make out from the picture what territory it is for. Could be Cameroun, judging from the look of it. The country name will be right above the denomination panel, and below it, it will probably say "Timbre Taxe".

Yes, it is Cameroun postage due. Cameroun is actually on the stamp at the top half.
